Interview with Emile Tem Aprophis, author of The Pursuit of Happiness
Publisher and author of Awakenings Peace Dictionary and the Mind, A Daily Brain Health Program, Kimberly Burnham caught up with Emile Tem Aprophis in a blog interview just before his first book was published.
Kimberly Burnham: What do you best like to write?
Emile Tem Aprophis: I write fictional prose and like writing about love and courage. I write about my own experiences and what I see in the world, although I would say my writing is about 80 percent fiction while 20 percent comes out of my own life experiences.
Kimberly Burnham: You have been compared to Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini, author of the Kite Runner in the way he lays out the plight of an Afghan boy in a war-torn country. What makes your writing so compelling in the telling of the story of an African boy.
Emile Tem Aprophis: I write to sensitize, to educate and challenge the mindset of the reader and particularly people who can affect positive change in the world. I also write to become a better person myself.
Kimberly Burnham: Your book, The Pursuit of Happiness has a strong environmental focus, what do you yourself do to contribute to a better environment?
Emile Tem Aprophis: Mainly, I contribute to a positive environment by planting flowers and avoid throwing non-degradable objects into the environment.
Kimberly Burnham: How would you sum up the way to be successful in attaining happiness?
Emile Tem Aprophis: "Let love lead in our lives."
I also like the quote from Kwame Nkrumah, “Action without thought is empty. Thought without action is blind.”

The Pursuit of Happiness
Well conceived, beautifully written and carefully packaged, The Pursuit of Happiness by Tem Aprophis Emile is an entertaining piece of narrative which illuminates the childhood experiences of many African youths in countries plagued by war. It penetrates the human psyche and explores deep social and moral issues such as the immigration crisis, racism and the rise of terrorism.
In a sense, the stone that was rejected became the chief corner stone. Thus with courage and determination, Dany, the protagonist becomes an International Ambassador of Climate Change.
Once you start reading, the narrative holds you spellbound as it progresses and finally released you only when you would have raced through the whole story.

I am looking for guest blog opportunities and a position as poet-in-residence. My current project is writing dictionary poems using words in different languages for the English word "peace." You can read some of my poems on Poemhunter .
As poet-in-residence I would write poems on different words in different languages and broadcast them throughout the social media blogosphere. Each poem would link back to your site where the word or language appeared.
I would expect some sort of stipend and a six month to one year placement. Please contact me for details if your organization is interested in having a poet-in-residence to help get your message out. Nervewhisperer@gmial.com
