My Book: Self-Publishing, a Guided Journal
Close your eyes
imagine for a moment writing your memoir
holding the paperback book in your hands
Imagine how it feels
the smoothness of the cover
the weight of the book
the colors of the cover
Imagine how you feel
as you show your published book
to your friends and family
How do you feel when they say
How does it feel
knowing your grandchildren
and great grandchildren
can read your story

This is a guided journal for people who are writing a memoir or life story (non-fiction or fiction) and planning to self-publish. It takes you step by step through all the considerations when publishing a book.
Authors start at any age. People publish books as children and as adults. There are authors who are eight and ones who are a hundred and one when they publish their first book. There is a saying “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” but the fastest way to become an old dog is to stop learning new tricks. Get started publishing your book today no matter how old you are.
If you are working on a computer make a folder for your book manuscript, any digital pictures, videos, articles about you, etc. Keep everything you collect in the book publishing process in a folder (physical folder or binder or computer folder).
This book gives you a place to write notes about conversations with your publisher and brainstorm on how you want your book to look and be marketed.

I am looking for guest blog opportunities and a position as poet-in-residence. My current project is writing dictionary poems using words in different languages for the English word "peace." You can read some of my poems on Poemhunter .
As poet-in-residence I would write poems on different words in different languages and broadcast them throughout the social media blogosphere. Each poem would link back to your site where the word or language appeared.
I would expect some sort of stipend and a six month to one year placement. Please contact me for details if your organization is interested in having a poet-in-residence to help get your message out. Nervewhisperer@gmial.com
