Free Online Class: Walk Better For People With Parkinson's Disease, Healing Through Words
Do you know someone with Parkinson's disease? Walk Better for People With Parkinson's Disease, Healing Through Words by Kimberly Burnham, PhD (Integrative Medicine). Free Class, Energetic Download and Notes at http://skl.sh/2BHbeAr and https://www.skillshare.com/r/profile/Kimberly-Burnham/1982084
Are you one of the ten million people worldwide living with Parkinson's disease? Is someone you love losing their independence or their ability to walk due to Parkinson's disease?
Possibly you have found success in medications and surgery. Perhaps you are looking for other ways to decrease the tremors in your hands, so you can enjoy a dinner out with friends. Maybe you want to improve your walking or are a lifelong runner who has had to give up exercise because of the stiffness in your legs and the pain in your back. Maybe you want to read this book to learn some easy ways to balance your brain chemistry and feel more expressive, more focused, and more successful.
ACUPUNCTURE, REIKI, CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Have you tried acupuncture for the symptoms of Parkinson's disease? Have you been thinking about how Craniosacral therapy, Integrative Manual Therapy or Reiki could improve your life?
MATRIX ENERGETICS or EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (EFT)
Maybe someone has talked to you about the benefits of Matrix Energetics, Emotional Freedom Technique's light tapping or Nature's Sensational Medicine. Perhaps you have never even heard of any of these things but your are searching for something that will help you feel better and are open to something new.
There is a saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks," but do you know the second part of the saying?
"The fastest way to become an old dog? .... Stop learning new tricks."
Yes, some of these exercises can seem crazy but before you decide, spend two minutes doing one of the many exercises, visualizations, movements. Spend some time looking at the colors around you or reading the research from ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine or the latest article from Amy Cuddy, a Harvard professor who has found that two minutes of "Power Posing" or standing in a Wonder Woman or Superman posture can improve testosterone levels, literally making you a more powerful leader. Striking a two minute pose, standing or moving in a particular way also decreases cortisol levels, which makes you more adaptable and less stressed.
Read the research linking dopamine to the energy of your gallbladder, even if it has been removed. In Acupuncture the gallbladder meridian is associated with the color green. It is, along with the liver a Wood Element. What if visualizing the color green flowing through your body, through your brain, through your liver and gallbladder could improve your control of movement, walking, or your facial expressions? Would it be worth spending two minutes a day?
What if visualizing yourself moving in a smooth controlled conscious way could help you in the real world to drive more safely, walk without falling and enjoy your family more. Read the research on motor imagery, on using the mind to heal the brain, on the response of dopamine to physical exercises as well as imaginative rehabilitation.
Imagination is being able to see something before it is visible before it is real in your life.
Would your life improve if you were more confident and compassionate or less angry and disappointed? What would change in the here and now if you could imagine a future with a full and independent life?
What if spending a few minutes a day thinking about disgusting food could improve your basal ganglia function. The basal ganglia is the part of the brain where surgically the deep brain stimulator is placed to suppress unwanted movements like ticks and tremors. What if your emotions could flow along the pathways that also light up the basal ganglia, making it possible for you to stand up, walk and turn as you navigate your world with more ease?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO FEEL BETTER?
What do you have to let go of to harness the healing in your own hands and in your own mind? Are you consciously using touch to improve your independence, your movement or your comfort?
Read this book for the easy ways to balance your brain chemistry and feel more expressive, more focused, and more successful
Look in these pages for other ways to decrease the tremors in your hands, so you can enjoy a dinner out with friends.
Improve your walking or get back to exercising by improving the stiffness in your legs and the pain in your back.

Keep Out of The Heat
It would be easy to say, just keep out of the heat, don't sweat or get injured but that is difficult to do with a full life. This book is designed to help increase the quality of life of people with Darier's disease using nutrition and several forms of manual therapy and energy medicine.
A 2015 study found that Darier's disease or keratosis follicularis is worsened by heat, sun exposure, perspiration and mechanical trauma. Researchers noted, "Darier's disease is a rare autosomal dominant genodermatosis. It has an estimated prevalence of 1 in 55,000 to 100,000 individuals, regardless of gender. It is characterized by multiple keratotic papules on the seborrheic areas of the trunk, scalp, forehead and flexures, and the clinical picture is worsened by heat, sun exposure, perspiration and mechanical trauma. Histopathology observed loss of epithelial adhesion and abnormal keratinization. About 10% of cases present in the localized form of the disease. We report a case of segmental Darier's Disease Type I and discuss the main characteristics of this condition." - Medeiros, P. M., N. R. Alves, et al. (2015). "Segmental Darier's disease: a presentation of difficult diagnosis." An Bras Dermatol 90(3 Suppl 1): 62-65.
Another study listed common complaints as "itching, with exacerbations attributed to heat, sweating, sunlight, lithium, steroid therapy, stress, and menstruation "-Santos-Alarcon, S., C. Sanchis-Sanchez, et al. (2016). "Diclofenac sodium 3% gel for darier's disease treatment." Dermatol Online J 22(4).

"This paper describes a study identifying the impact of key aspects of Chinese culture on the responses of mid-aged Chinese-Australians to their advanced cancer in order to make recommendations about their care within the health system.
Studies conducted in the 1960s and 1970s focused on understanding people's psychological responses to their experiences of terminal illness, but the issue of culture was not addressed. In recent years, a few studies have been conducted with Chinese-Australians, but were limited to issues related to their information needs and the disclosure of a cancer diagnosis. There is a lack of understanding of the impact of Chinese culture on the experiences of these patients.
A grounded theory approach was used to generate a substantive theory to explain how mid-aged Chinese-Australians respond to advancing cancer. Eleven participants were recruited and data were collected from face-to-face interviews, telephone contacts, observation and researcher field notes. Data generation occurred between 1997 and 1999. FINDINGS: Four modes of response to advanced cancer were identified: acute crisis, combat, despondency and waiting for death.
This paper deals particularly with the combat mode which incorporated five culturally specific strategies used by participants in their struggle against advanced cancer. These were traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese beliefs on the use of food for health maintenance, qi gong (a form of exercise), feng shui (which involves paying attention to spatial organization) and the worship of ancestors and gods. Deeply entrenched within these responses is the influence of Chinese culture, rooted in the beliefs and practices of traditional Chinese medicine and the philosophy of harmony and balance of yin and yang and qi.
Health care professionals need to be aware of the cultural practices and beliefs of the different ethnic groups for whom they care, and of the importance of accommodation to and negotiation about these cultural practices."

Diamond Feng Shui Fest Free
Learn the life-changing secrets of "Feng Shui" in the FREE 3-day Diamond Feng Shui Fest online beginning May 14
Feng Shui is more than good interior design and having space that "feels" good. When done right it can be one of the most powerful personal development tools ever.
Beginning May 14, Feng Shui master Marie Diamond will tell you exactly how to use Feng Shui in your home to:
• Attract more rewards for your talents
• Reduce drama, conflict, and stress in your home
• Learn and remember anything easily
• Have more friends and better relationships
• Let go of what is keeping you stuck
• Heal quicker from illness and injuries
Yes, good Feng Shui can result in all of this! And that's just a taste of what you will learn in this free online event.
How can moving your sofa
make you more money?
Chinese emperors had access to sacred knowledge about how surroundings affect energy—for better or for worse.
They knew how to attract positive energy and how to deflect negative energy. For thousands of years they used it for long life, to control their empire, and to build supreme wealth.
They called this knowledge Feng Shui, and to them it was mystical. But today Feng Shui can be explained through a field of science called quantum physics.
By making specific changes in your environment, you make changes in the energy that surrounds you, and this can have a massive impact on your life. Here's what Marie Diamond's students have experienced:
"Promoted to Senior Vice President with a 25% increase in pay."
"Immediately we became lovey-dovey again."
"My net worth doubled in nine months."
"Within a day the first call for an audition came in."
"An unexpected gift of $50,000 came."
"Immediately the pain subsided and has now gone away completely."
"In just ten months my personal income increased by more than 1100%. I did nothing differently but implement Diamond Feng Shui techniques."
If you've tried everything to change your life,
but nothing happens, maybe you're living
with bad Feng Shui
Your misfortune—or lack of fortune—may be due to the energy of your environment. Moving into a new home or switching jobs is not the solution. Bad Feng Shui is likely to follow you around until you take action to change it.
During the three days of the Diamond Feng Shui Fest you will be able to check the Feng Shui of your home and workplace and make the changes that give you Feng Shui that can positively change your life forever.
You can learn Marie Diamond's powerful
Feng Shui techniques FREE in the
Diamond Feng Shui Fest
Thanks to the generosity of Marie Diamond there is absolutely no charge or obligation to study Diamond Feng Shui during the three days beginning May 14. To get your Free Pass to these sessions click here:
Feel free to pass this email onto your friends. Let's give everyone a chance to get more from life through good Feng Shui.

Imagine if this was your day....a headache before you went to bed, then you woke up at 2 am and never did quite get back to sleep. At seven when the alarm went off you thought about calling in sick but there is just too much to do and then irritated you realized you ran out of breakfast cereal and had a pop tart instead. Your eyes can't focus on the report you are preparing. Last night's head ache is coming back and you wish that you had had time for a better lunch.....It is not a good day for you or your liver.
What would your liver say, if it had a voice, a say in how your life flows, the amount of energy you have, how well you sleep and how happy you are?
In fact, your liver is talking all the time, communicating how it feels and is functioning. Here is a brief Liverese to English translation guide, followed by some things you can do to bridge the communication gap:
Low energy in the afternoon : Low energy often means the liver is not doing it job. Normally the liver regulates many substances important in maintaining your body's normal state, stores nutrients including blood sugars and clears out waste products.
Easy bruising or bleeding gums - The liver is partially responsible for maintaining a good level of clotting factors.
Anemia and other vitamin deficiencies - The liver also stores fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E and K), folate, vitamin B 12 , and minerals such as copper and iron.
Dark circles under the eyes and yellowish skin color - The liver is telling you it is not clearing toxins and the bilirubin from old red blood cells is turning the skin a yellowish hue.
Swollen ankles - Decreased amounts of liver produced protein, albumin may lead to swelling and water retention.
Difficulty digesting fats - Bile produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder is a greenish fluid need for fat digestion.
High cholesterol - Cholesterol, needed for cell membrane structure, hormone balance and proper nerve conduction, is produced or processed in the liver. If the production or processing is off then cholesterol levels rise. A healthy liver keeps it all in balanced.
Hot flashes and other hormonal disturbances - Yup, liver again as it plays an important role in hormonal modification and endocrine balance.
Chest distention, sighing, nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, diarrhea, depression, moodiness, PMS, breast tenderness, painful and/or irregular menstruation - Liver talking again.
Headaches - The liver removes harmful substances and irritants from the blood, when it doesn't they can irritate the lining of the brain.
Hang over - Alcohol and sugar are primarily metabolized by the liver, and accumulation of its products can lead to cell injury and liver problems.
Gallbladder pain / gallstones - The gallbladder is considered in Traditional Chinese Medicine to be the pair to the liver and as you know when one partner is not doing his job the relationship suffers.
Trouble sleeping between 1am and 3am - These are considered the peak hours for the liver in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Difficulty between 1 am and 3 am is often ascribed to an unhappy liver.
Problems with the eyes, tendons, tears (dry eyes), nails - All associated with liver's acupuncture meridian which flows along the inner leg on both sides.
Anger management issues - In Traditional Chinese Medicine the liver, considered a wood element is associated with the emotion anger.
So, what is there to do to ensure everyone is happier?
If you think of vision / eyesight, liver / gallbladder health and anger forming a triangle, three connected points, each influencing the other for good or for bad. Imagine one point of the triangle is your vision, your ability to see the colors of a rainbow, recognize the face of your best friend, or read an inspirational book like, Pebbles in the Pond, Transforming the World One Person at a Time.
Another point is the liver and the gallbladder, they are linked in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The liver meridian associated with the color green, runs along the inner leg. The gallbladder meridian runs along the outer edge of the leg and up into the area over the ears. Rubbing the head as in a scalp massage can stimulate the liver and gallbladder points. Pressure on liver and gallbladder points along the leg is also thought to soothe the liver.
Due to the interaction between the three points of this triangle, improving the eyes with exercises, eating more essential fatty acids, such as olive oil, avocado, salmon or through acupuncture or manual therapy will also have a beneficial effect on anger management and liver / gallbladder health.
You can go in another door and work on improving the liver and gallbladder by eating organic foods, and maintain a diet low in processed sugars or alcohol. There are many herbs and detoxifying foods that can help the liver and gallbladder function more efficiently. Improving liver and gallbladder health typically also improves vision and anger management skills. Going in the anger door of the triangle will also affect the other two points.
Another way to increase internal communication is to rest quietly with one hand over the liver (right side of the lower rib cage) and the other hand on the area you want to connect (ie) the heart to improve blood flow and cholesterol or the spleen (left side of lower rib cage) to improve the way the liver talks to the immune system or the head to improve headache symptoms.
By talking to a psychologist or life coach, doing things you love and enjoy, watching one of your favorite movies, like my favorite, The Last Holiday or writing in a journal can each improve your anger management skills. As your level of uncontrollable anger or rage decreases, your vision and liver / gallbladder health may also improve. By improving one of the three you can improve the other two.
One of my favorite Japanese sayings is, "There are many ways to the top of Mount Fuji." Once you understand relationships in your body or in your life you can find the access or doorway into improving the overall system. For some people doing talk therapy or coaching for anger issues can be the easiest, fastest way to improve their life. for someone else eliminating processed sugar from their diet might be the best way to improve vision and reactivity to the world.
I See What Your Are Saying, If Your Liver Could Talk by Kimberly Burnham, PhD, The Nerve Whisperer Originally Published at Giving Voice to Your Story with Dorit Sasson
On the interdependencies of the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine: “Food relies on water and fire. Production relies on metal and wood. Earth gives birth to everything.”.- A Collection of Ancient Works
In Traditional Chinese Medicine connective tissue (including ligaments, tendons, spinal and brain's dura and meningis, carpal tendons, bones, pericardium (connective tissue sac around the heart, the protective layers around muscles and nerves, and more) is associated with Earth elements (stomach and spleen) as well as the mouth, the taste of sweetness and a sense of anxiety. One way to use this information is to do visualization on the color yellow which is also associated with the Earth elements.
While resting quietly place one hand over the stomach (lower ribcage slightly to the left of center) and the other hand on the spleen (left side of the body, deep to the lower rib cage). Focus on your breathing and the color yellow. Imagine all the shades of yellow you can and all the things, clothes, birds, books, etc around you that are yellow.
Another exercise is while you are walking or a passenger in a car, look around and notice everything you see that is yellow.

Tu Bishvat marks the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle. Celebrate the 15th of Shevat by eating fruit, particularly from the kinds that are singled out by the Torah in its praise of the bounty of the Holy Land: grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates. Plant a tree. Do something special for the environment.

My kitchen table, for example, feels solid, a light blond wood that gives a deep solid tone when my knuckles rap on it. My hands feel solid, too. And I imagine this is what is real, the solid things in my life.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we talk about solid organs and hollow organs. The water elements, Kidney and Bladder, form a Ying and Yang pairing, the solid kidneys contrasting the hollow bladder but both are water elements associated with the color of deep lakes and cloudless skys and with creativity. While the kidneys and bladder are said to be the seat of the emotion fear, water is the most powerful element. It can move around any obstacle in its path without losing its essential nature. Water can, in time, dissolve the hardest mountain.
Is my hand really as solid as it seems? Is my body or my life as solid as it seems?
My hand as it pounds the table, solidly filled with carbon, oxygen, iron, and hydrogen. Molecules of water flowing through my veins, building walls full of carbon, iron, potassium, calcium, and more.
In that microscopic dimension I am a mass of vibrating particles, it can be hard to say where my hand ends and where the air begins. Does this molecule of carbon or calcium belong to my hand, the air or the table? When I reach my hand out to you, touching your skin, what is you and what is me?
It is here where electrons pop in and out of existence, that I am really connected to everything and nothing is real. One molecule is not more important than another, yet each one is vital to the continued existence of this world as we know it to be. It seems solid as we bump up against our reality.
The other day, I cycled past a turtle. I had to stop to look closely since I could only see the shell; the body was all pulled in and tucked away. A dog was farther down the trail and I wondered: where does the turtle's head begin? Where does the sniffing nose of chocolate Labrador retriever end? And if we don't even know where it all begins and ends, then why are we so afraid of the solid things in our life? We are all solid and vital and vibrating at such a rate as to make it impossible to distinguish at the edges when I end and you begin.
Aisles in the Brain
Millions of threads
wandering in and out
of time through
venturing forth weaving
unaware of the beauty
the fabric of connections
the aisle shaking
hands with someone
not so different
still eyes on the aisle
the wall, the canyon
sometimes missing the bridge
Just a thread
the barest hint of substance
a root from a seedling
water cracking open
seed matter reorganizing
a tiny tendril ventures forth
Across the path
a turtle wanders
pulling it all in
at the sound of a dog barking
immobilized by vibrations
words flowing across the network
the warmth of a cozy fire
a wintery aisle
life and food and water
the love of a child
nurturing the seed
the turtle and the dog
Till growing tall
a thick rope bridge
cradles the aisle
I reach across
enjoying the risks
no safety inside the shell
